Andrew Schlapp joined Wichita State University in 2008 as the Director of Government Relations, in 2018 he was promoted to the Chief of Staff. Schlapp uses his leadership skills in developing strategies to fulfill the University’s mission statement, implementing initiatives across university divisions, collaboratively working with community leaders, businesses and stakeholders for the betterment of the region. In addition to his Chief of Staff responsibilities, he serves as Director of NIAR Business Development, Executive Director of the WSU Board of Trustees and Wichita State Innovation Alliance and Operations.
Schlapp graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's in business administration and received a master's in public administration from Wichita State University.
Mr. Schlapp is currently a member of the Governor's military council and on the executive board of the Sedgwick County developmental disability organization.
