Christian James-Olsen is a Partner at Wikborg Rein's Bergen office and is part of the firm's Shipping Offshore practice. He headed the firm's Shanghai office from 2016 to 2019.
Christian primarily works with the shipping & offshore sector with main areas of practice relating to offshore, supply industry, shipping and maritime law, manufacturing/enterprise law and contract law. He advises suppliers within the oil and gas sector, ship owners and shipyards. He regularly gives advice in matters relating to chartering, management and operation of offshore units and vessels. Christian has particularly broad experience from structuring, planning, negotiations and management of shipbuilding and offshore projects, including engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) contracts for the building, conversion and maintenance of offshore rigs and vessels. He is experienced within dispute resolution and litigation work before Norwegian courts and international arbitrations.
Christian has extensive experience in advising Norwegian and international clients in respect of cross-border and investment matters related to the Nordics and China.
He is frequently used as speaker at universities and conferences.
