Julia Mandell has over 20 years of work experience. Julia started their career in 2002 as an Assistant Editor at Architecture Magazine, where they wrote and edited articles and played a role in editorial redesign and website launch. In 2008, they joined SWA Group as a Designer, specializing in landscape and architectural design, urban planning, and project management. Julia then joined the Office of Cheryl Barton in 2013 as a Designer and Assistant Project Manager. Currently, they are working at Wilson Associates, where they have held various roles, including Architect, Associate Design Director, and their current position as Design Director.

Julia Mandell holds a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree in Architecture and Planning, which they obtained from Rice University from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Architecture at Barnard College from 1997 to 2001. Julia has additional certifications, including an Architectural License from the California Architects Board and LEED certification from USGBC.
