Kristen Ziman

Kristen Ziman is a seasoned safety and security expert currently serving as the Safety and Security Expert at WINK NEWS since November 2023, where responsibilities include enhancing the journalistic integrity of law enforcement-related stories. As the Chief Executive Officer of Kristen Ziman Consulting, LLC since August 2021, Kristen focuses on preventing mass shootings and conducts presentations on critical topics for law enforcement and private sector organizations. Previously, Kristen held the position of Chief of Police for the Aurora Police Department from January 2016 to August 2021, after serving as a police officer with the City of Aurora from June 1994 to August 2021. Additionally, Kristen has experience as a columnist for the Sun-Times News Group from March 2008 to December 2013. Educational achievements include a Master's Degree in Homeland Security and Defense from the Naval Postgraduate School, an MA in Criminal Justice/Organizational Leadership from Boston University, and completion of several prestigious programs, including the FBI National Academy and the Senior Management Institute for Police.
