Hemal Jhaveri is the current Managing Editor at Wired. Hemal has over 10 years of experience in the field of journalism. Hemal got their start in the industry as an Executive Producer at AOL in 2006. In 2010, Hemal became the Director of Digital Innovation at Politico. During their time at Politico, Hemal was responsible for increasing website traffic by 20%. Hemal also oversaw the launch of Politico’s mobile livestream product and the development and design of POLITICO’s first iPad app. In 2013, Hemal left Politico to join USA TODAY Sports Media Group as a Senior Editor for For The Win. At For The Win, Hemal covers issues of race and gender in sports. Hemal has also overseen the growth and development of USA TODAY’s video product. In 2021, Hemal was promoted to Managing Editor at Wired.
Hemal Jhaveri is a fellowship-trained, board-certified physician specializing in the treatment of urological cancers. Hemal has a Master of Arts in English with a concentration in Cultural Studies from George Mason University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Media Arts/Design from James Madison University.
