Patrick Renie has a diverse work experience history. Patrick began their career as a Developer at Paizo Inc. in 2011, where they were responsible for outlining, designing, and editing print copy for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Patrick also led the development of the monthly Pathfinder Player Companion line. Renie later joined DigiPen Institute of Technology as a Copywriter in 2014, where they wrote news articles, features, and promotional content for the marketing and communications department. In 2016, they were promoted to Senior Writer/Editor, where they outlined and wrote content for the DigiPen website, news platform, social media, and print projects. Renie then volunteered as a farmhand through WWOOF-USA on La Buena Vida in Captain Cook, Hawaii, practicing sustainable living and caring for farm animals. Patrick briefly worked as a Fulfillment Specialist at Card Kingdom Inc in 2018 before returning to Paizo Inc. as a Developer, serving as an exemplar of the role and mentoring less experienced developers. Renie joined the U.S. Census Bureau as an Enumerator in 2020, where they traveled home to home to collect and report demographic research for the 2020 U.S. census. Lastly, they joined Wizards of the Coast in 2022 as a Game Designer.

Patrick Renie attended Western Washington University from 2007 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in English with a focus on Creative Writing.
