Janis Harper is an accomplished journalist and media executive with extensive experience in leadership roles across various news organizations. Currently serving as Executive Producer for The Morning Show at WJXT since March 2022, Janis previously held the position of News Director at WEAU 13 News and KTVA 11 News in Anchorage, where notable achievements included playing a key role in Emmy-winning coverage of a significant earthquake and managing the newsroom amid economic challenges. Janis has demonstrated strong strategic planning and personnel management skills as Assistant News Director at 14 WFIE and as Executive Producer at KLTV, where an innovative overtime monitoring system was implemented company-wide. Early career positions involved producing various newscasts at WAVE 3 News, WSET-TV, and KPLC-TV, with a focus on breaking news and innovative local content.
