Director, Infrastructure Acceleration at WM5G

Rhys Enfield is a seasoned telecommunications professional with extensive experience in infrastructure development and deployment. Currently serving as the Director of Infrastructure Acceleration at West Midlands 5G since April 2020, Rhys is responsible for delivering a significant 5G testbed and trials project while accelerating 5G deployment. Prior roles include Consultant at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport from February 2021 to January 2022, and Infrastructure Planning and Deployment Lead at West Midlands Combined Authority from January 2019 to March 2020. Rhys also held leadership positions at Nokia Networks as Head of Network Build, overseeing the EE Access network, and at Orange, where roles included National Delivery Manager and Regional Implementation Manager. Rhys holds a B. Eng in Civil Engineering from Coventry University, earned between 1989 and 1991.
