Joel Klein has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and computer architecture. Joel currently works as a Principal Architect at Wolfram. Prior to that, they were a Staff Engineer at Aviatrix. Joel previously worked at Wolfram in various roles, including Principal Architect, Manager of Distributed Systems Engineering, Kernel Development Architect, Senior Kernel Developer, and Kernel Developer. Before joining Wolfram, Joel worked as a Software Engineer at Cisco Systems. Joel began their career as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they developed course materials and implemented a cross compiler. Joel also worked as a Software Engineer at Motorola, where they focused on embedded systems development.
Joel Klein completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology from 1990 to 1994. Joel then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1997 to 2001.
