Beatriz E. Valenzuela is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in various managerial roles. Currently serving as the Communications Manager for Women in Animation since November 2021, Valenzuela coordinates strategic communications campaigns to enhance public awareness and support for gender equity in animation, VFX, and gaming. Previously, Valenzuela held the same position at Equality California, focusing on promoting legal, civil, and human rights for diverse LGBTQ+ communities. Valenzuela's background also includes freelance work as a multimedia journalist, as well as positions at The San Bernardino Sun and Southern California Public Radio, where engagement in breaking news and community-focused reporting was emphasized. Early career experience includes managing public relations at the El Monte/South El Monte Chamber of Commerce. Valenzuela's educational background includes studies at Pasadena City College from 1994 to 1996.
