Joyce Carey began their work experience in 2002 at AIB, where they served as a member of the iBB Corporate Support Team until 2007. Joyce then joined Danske Bank in 2008, working in corporate support until 2013. In 2014, Joyce became a QA Engineer at CR2 Channel Banking Software, a role they held until 2017. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Software Tester at Capita Integrated Business Solutions. Most recently, Joyce joined Workhuman in November 2019 as a Quality Assurance Engineer.

Joyce Carey completed their Bachelor's Degree in Business Studies at the Technology University of the Shannon, Athlone Campus from 1997 to 2001. Joyce then pursued further education at the same institution and obtained a Graduate Diploma in Computing from 2001 to 2002.
