Julia Haney is an experienced journalist and non-profit leader with a robust background in reporting, digital content management, and community engagement. Currently serving as a local news reporter for Local Publications since August 2023, Haney co-founded World Connect, Inc., a non-profit organization that has invested over $4.3 million in global community-led projects, with a focus on enhancing opportunities for women. Previous roles include climate reporter for KALW, director of digital content for Ovia Health, and co-founder as well as fiction and poetry editor for Thalia Magazine. Haney has also held leadership positions in educational and advocacy organizations, such as South Boston After School. Haney earned a Bachelor's degree cum laude in English from Harvard University and is currently pursuing a Master's of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley.
