Chief WMO Information System at World Meteorological Organization

Enrico Fucile is an experienced professional in the field of meteorology and data management. Currently serving as the Head of the Data and Information Management Division at the World Meteorological Organization since June 2018, Enrico previously held key positions at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, including Leader of the Observations Team and Group Leader for Data Acquisition & Preprocessing. Earlier in Enrico’s career, significant contributions were made at the Aeronautica Militare as an Officer and as a Scientist at the Centro Siciliano di Ricerche Atmosferiche e di Fisica dell’Ambiente, focusing on aerosol and remote sensing research. Enrico began the career as a Visiting Scientist at the Chemical Research and Development Centre. Educationally, Enrico holds a PhD and an MS in Physics from the University of Messina, completed in 1994 and 1989, respectively.
