Aysu Basaran began their work experience in 1995 as a Writer at WKRC-TV. Aysu then moved on to WBNS-TV in 1996, where they held multiple roles including Executive Producer of Special Projects, Special Projects Producer, and Producer. In 2007, Basaran joined WRAL-TV as the Assistant News Director.

Aysu Basaran pursued their education in a chronological manner. Aysu first attended Otterbein University from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Communications. Following this, they pursued further studies at The Ohio State University from 1994 to 1995, where they completed a Master's degree in Journalism.
