Brooke Leonard is a skilled sports reporter and photographer with extensive experience in storytelling, community engagement, and content creation. Currently serving as a Sports Reporter at WSLS 10 since June 2019, Brooke focuses on impactful local sports coverage, utilizing innovative storytelling techniques through various media platforms. Prior roles include Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter at KBZK and Sports Reporter/MMJ at WFXR, where Brooke developed diverse content, conducted interviews, and managed social media for sports departments. Additional experience encompasses working with the Virginia Tech Women's Basketball Team to create digital content and photography for NCAA athletics. Brooke holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Journalism from Virginia Tech, attained in 2018.

WSLS 10

WSLS was the first television station to serve central and Southwest Virginia, officially signing on the air December 11, 1952. WSLS 10 was licensed by Shenandoah Life Insurance Company as one of Southwest Virginia’s pioneer stations.WSLS 10’s studios were built in the early 1950s. The transmitter site is 13.5 air miles Southwest of Roanoke ontop of Poor Mountain, which has an elevation of 4,041 feet in Roanoke County.WSLS 10 offers viewers premium quality news, weather sports and entertainment on every screen. WSLS 10 is owned by Media General, one of the nation’s largest cross-screen, multimedia companies that operates or services 71 television stations in 48 markets along with the industry’s leading digital media business.
