Eli Chen is a seasoned digital news producer currently with North Carolina Public Radio-WUNC since August 2023. Prior to this role, Chen served as a senior editor for the Overheard at National Geographic podcast from August 2020 to June 2023, overseeing narrative storytelling and managing audio production teams. Previous experience includes co-producing and co-hosting shows for The Story Collider, reporting on science and environmental issues for St. Louis Public Radio, and serving as a science reporter and iSeeChange partner for WDDE - 91.1 FM. Additional experience encompasses production roles with the World Science Festival, Science Friday, and an editorial internship at OnEarth Magazine. Chen holds a Master of Arts in Journalism with a focus on Health and Science Reporting from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Communications and Creative Writing from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
