Katie Hall, PhD, has a diverse work experience in scientific operations, laboratory and facilities coordination, and research. Katie currently serves as the Head of Scientific Operations at Xap Therapeutics since 2022. Prior to this, Katie spent several years at the University of Cambridge, where they worked in various roles including Laboratory & Facilities Coordinator, Acting Laboratory & Building Manager, and Research Associate. Their research focused on neurodegenerative disease rodent models and therapeutic strategies, with expertise in in vivo experimental design, behavioral phenotyping, and ex vivo analysis. Before their time at Cambridge, Katie was a PhD student at Cardiff University, where they researched dietary therapeutic compounds for Alzheimer's disease. Katie also gained experience as an Animal Technician at the Medical Research Council, primarily working with mouse cohorts and investigating circadian rhythms.

Katie Hall, PhD, started their education in 2003 at the University of the West of England, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc (Hons)) in Animal Science. Katie completed their undergraduate studies in 2007. Following this, they went on to pursue a PhD in Behavioural Neuroscience at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, starting in 2008 and completing their doctoral studies in 2012.
