Pavan Ramkumar

Pavan Ramkumar is an accomplished professional in artificial intelligence and machine learning with extensive experience in the biotech and healthcare sectors. Currently serving as the Director of AI/ML at Xilis, Pavan focuses on developing innovative ex-vivo tumor observability platforms. As an independent consultant since June 2024, Pavan provides expertise in AI/ML, MLOps, data science team building, and biotechnology. Pavan's previous roles include founding a stealth AI startup, and directing machine learning initiatives at Herophilus, where Pavan led teams to discover insights from brain organoid datasets. Experience also includes leading data science initiatives at Balbix and conducting postdoctoral research at Northwestern University. Pavan holds a PhD in neuroscience, signal processing, and machine learning from Aalto University and possesses a strong foundation in computational neuroscience as well as machine vision and tracking algorithm development.
