Shyam Gupta

Shyam joined the Yaletown team in 2017 as our Montreal-based partner. Co-founder of SDP Telecom Inc., he led that company for more than 15 years.

Following the 2014 acquisition of SDP by Molex LLC, a subsidiary of Koch Industries, Shyam co-founded Somel Investments, where he led private financing and was a director of five high-tech, emerging growth companies in Quebec.

Shyam has received numerous awards for his entrepreneurial success, including the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, the Technology Fast 500 in North America for two consecutive years, and the Quebec Ernst & Young 2009 Entrepreneur of The Year Award. He has a PhD in engineering.
