Chinmaya R Joshi is a seasoned engineering professional currently serving as the Head of Controller Engineering (Inverters) at YASA since March 2022. Prior to this role, Chinmaya held the position of Senior Manager of HV Power Electronics at Jaguar Land Rover from February 2019 to February 2022, where responsibilities included leading the design and delivery of integrated DCDC, onboard charger, and Battery Management Systems, as well as developing teams and processes for hardware and software design. Between July 2013 and February 2019, Chinmaya served as Executive Director of Technology & Operations at Electra EV, co-founding the company with Mr. Ratan Tata. Earlier career experience includes various managerial roles at TATA SONS LIMITED from April 2013 to January 2019. Chinmaya holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.

YASA was founded on the principle that small, light electric motors would play a growing role in meeting both the strict emissions targets being set globally in a wide range of industries and the requirement for greater efficiency through electrification.The Company was incorporated in 2009 based on a unique patented motor technology invented bythe Company’s founder and CTO Dr Tim Woolmer whilst studying for his DPhil at Oxford University. The unique YASA motor technology is ideal for a range of mobile applications such as hydraulics replacement, power generation, traction and propulsion and hybridisation. YASA Motors manufactures a range of standard electric motors and generators based on our unique motor topology at our factory and Company Headquarters in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The YASA-750, YASA-250 and YASA-400 products have been designed to be integrated into customers’ products in a range of markets and industries with minimal application engineering. In addition to our standard products, YASA has a design and development team dedicated to making bespoke motors for customers for medium-high volume applications.
