Jack Swarbrigg is a Senior Design Engineer at YASA, where responsibilities include designing components for high-performance motor programs from tooling to end products. Prior experience includes a role as a Mechanical Design and Integration Engineer at CHARGE CARS, focusing on the design and packaging of components for converting classic cars to electric vehicles. Jack has expertise in reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, and low-volume production. Additionally, as a Race Mechanic for the OUMF Racing Team, involvement in the build and operation of the OUMF Riley 1.5 race car led to consistent first-class wins and high placements at prestigious events. An internship at SAIC Motor UK Technical Centre Limited provided valuable insights into passenger vehicle aerodynamics and testing procedures. Jack holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Motorsports Engineering from Oxford Brookes University.

YASA was founded on the principle that small, light electric motors would play a growing role in meeting both the strict emissions targets being set globally in a wide range of industries and the requirement for greater efficiency through electrification.The Company was incorporated in 2009 based on a unique patented motor technology invented bythe Company’s founder and CTO Dr Tim Woolmer whilst studying for his DPhil at Oxford University. The unique YASA motor technology is ideal for a range of mobile applications such as hydraulics replacement, power generation, traction and propulsion and hybridisation. YASA Motors manufactures a range of standard electric motors and generators based on our unique motor topology at our factory and Company Headquarters in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The YASA-750, YASA-250 and YASA-400 products have been designed to be integrated into customers’ products in a range of markets and industries with minimal application engineering. In addition to our standard products, YASA has a design and development team dedicated to making bespoke motors for customers for medium-high volume applications.
