Ross Jackson is a Lead Engineer in Test and Validation at YASA since June 2019, overseeing multiple OEM motor validation programs and coordinating testing efforts. Prior roles at YASA include Senior Engineer and Test and Validation Engineer, focusing on motor validation programmes, test specifications, and data quality assurance. Previously, Ross worked as a Powertrain Engineer at Ricardo, addressing manufacturing issues and conducting failure investigations for high-performance engines. The early career included roles as a Graduate Engineer and Service Advisor, alongside technical positions at RWE npower and Cummins Inc., culminating in an apprenticeship as a Junior Technician. Ross holds a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Oxford Brookes University and a BTEC National Diploma in Vehicle Engineering from Brooklands College.

YASA was founded on the principle that small, light electric motors would play a growing role in meeting both the strict emissions targets being set globally in a wide range of industries and the requirement for greater efficiency through electrification.The Company was incorporated in 2009 based on a unique patented motor technology invented bythe Company’s founder and CTO Dr Tim Woolmer whilst studying for his DPhil at Oxford University. The unique YASA motor technology is ideal for a range of mobile applications such as hydraulics replacement, power generation, traction and propulsion and hybridisation. YASA Motors manufactures a range of standard electric motors and generators based on our unique motor topology at our factory and Company Headquarters in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The YASA-750, YASA-250 and YASA-400 products have been designed to be integrated into customers’ products in a range of markets and industries with minimal application engineering. In addition to our standard products, YASA has a design and development team dedicated to making bespoke motors for customers for medium-high volume applications.
