Kaitlan Peterson has extensive experience in educational leadership, currently serving as Principal of YES Prep East End Secondary since June 2013. In previous roles, Kaitlan led various instructional teams, achieving significant academic improvements, including an “A” TEA accountability rating in 2019. Key accomplishments include driving literacy engagement resulting in top English/ELA Unit Exam scores and providing impactful coaching for teachers that led to growth in instructional practices. Kaitlan also co-founded the Corps and Alumni Mentorship Program and has a background in science education, having served as Science Department Chair at Houston Independent School District. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies and Spanish from American University and a Master of Education in Education Leadership from the University of St. Thomas.
