Matt Mcmahan is an accomplished educational leader currently serving as the School Principal at YES Prep Public Schools since July 2019, where Matt leads one of the first YES Prep Elementary school campuses and advocates strongly for students, families, and staff. Previous roles include Resident Principal within the largest charter network in Houston, Director of Campus Operations, and Literacy Specialist overseeing a literacy program at a developed campus. Prior experience encompasses teaching positions as a First Grade ESL Teacher at BakerRipley, Special Education Teacher with the NYC Department of Education, and Corps Member with Teach For America, in addition to being a Vacation Swing for Les Miserables on Broadway and a Mainstage Performer with Disney Cruise Line. Matt holds a Master of Education in Education/Teaching of Individuals in Elementary Special Education Programs from Brooklyn College and a Bachelor's degree in Musical Theatre from Oklahoma City University.
