YMCA Buffalo Niagara
John Craik has been with the YMCA Buffalo Niagara since 2015 and currently serves as its Chair. Prior to that, they were with Population Health Collaborative of WNY (formerly P2) from December 2014 to March 2015 as Outreach Coordinator & Provider Relations Manager. In this role, they were responsible for reaching out to and establishing relationships with healthcare providers, social service agencies, community-based organizations and other stakeholders to drive membership and other growth for a new and dynamic health care plan. John also recruited primary care physicians, practice groups, specialists and others, executed contracts and maintained relationships.
From January 2006 to December 2014, John Craik was with Baker Victory Services as Vice President of Administrative Services. In this role, they were responsible for all administrative functions including Human Resources, Facilities, Quality Improvement, Compliance, Support Services, and a self-funded health insurance plan. John also implemented new employee recruiting and screening process, applying Six Sigma principles to increase new hire retention rate from 28% to 78%. Furthermore, they established a comprehensive corporate compliance program and delivered training across the organization, working collaboratively with agency leaders.
Some notable accomplishments during their time at Baker Victory Services include leading the creation of a community-wide “Trauma Informed Care Initiative” with representatives from education, social services, law enforcement, and healthcare; creating and leading the “Program Development/Healthcare Reform” initiative to develop new and expand existing programs in anticipation of move to a managed
John Craik has a Doctor of Law from State University of New York at Buffalo - Law School. John graduated magna cum laude. John also has a BS in Organizational Development from Cornell University. In addition, they have certification from University at Buffalo - Millard Fillmore College in Practice Facilitator, John R. Oishei Foundation - "20 Young Leaders" Cohort I, and Not-for-Profit Management from Harvard Business School Club of Buffalo. Finally, they are certified in Six Sigma and Business Planning from United Way of Buffalo & Erie County.
