Marey Wagner has a wide range of work experience in the nonprofit sector. Marey most recently served as the Vice President of Institutional and Public Funding at the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta. Prior to that, they were the Chief Development Officer at Camp Southern Ground, where they successfully diversified funding sources and increased donor count. Marey also held the position of Associate Vice President, Fundraising Operations at CARE, where they led a team in delivering annual funds of $180M and implemented KPI dashboards for informed decision making. Additionally, Marey worked at the National 4-H Council, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Luis Obispo County, and WorldTeach, gaining experience in cause marketing, account strategy and development, operations, and programmatic growth. Marey began their career as an English Teacher with WorldTeach and then served as the Development & Volunteer Coordinator for AmeriCorps VISTA.

Marey Wagner received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1996. Marey then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Education at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, which they completed in 2000.
