Richard Pratt possesses 25 years of diverse experience in legal practice, both in private firms and in-house, specializing in providing embedded legal assistance and sophisticated advice. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Directors and Volunteer Fitness Instructor at the YMCA of Oakville since September 2020, Richard previously held the position of Managing Counsel at RBC until March 2025 and operated as a Senior Legal Counsel for Richard Pratt, Barrister & Solicitor between January 2014 and January 2015. Additional roles include Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Avalon Rare Metals Inc. and General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Vice President of Administration at MagIndustries Corp. Richard's legal career began as an Articling Student at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, advancing to Partner at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. Richard holds a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Manitoba.
