Steve Butsch has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Steve started their career in 1987 as a Member Technical Staff at Northrop Grumman Corporation / TRW, where they were responsible for designing signal processing equipment for communications. In 1992, they joined RAM Mobile Data as the Manager of Systems Engineering, managing technical recommendations and solutions for the western region.
In 1997, Steve moved to HP / Palm Inc. and held various roles, including Senior Sales Engineer, Manager of Systems Engineering, and Director of Systems Engineering. Steve provided technical sales support, managed sales engineering personnel, and worked closely with Fortune 1000 clients. Steve achieved target objectives for the Palm Enterprise and Carrier Sales teams and managed a team of ten sales engineers.
In 2012, they joined Devicescape as the Director of Sales Engineering, Americas, providing technical support and managing sales engineering teams. In 2017, Steve joined PowWow Mobile as the Senior Director of Sales Engineering, spearheading the company's disruptive technology for mobile enterprise app development.
Currently, Steve is employed at Yubico as a Principal Solutions Engineer. Steve joined the company in 2019 as a Senior Solutions Engineer and was promoted to their current role. Yubico is known for its YubiKey, a USB and NFC device that provides secure authentication for computers, networks, and online services.
Throughout their career, Steve Butsch has demonstrated strong technical expertise, leadership, and a customer-focused approach in the field of sales engineering and technical support.
Steve Butsch completed their education at The University of Kansas. Steve earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from 1981 to 1985. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Digital Communications from 1985 to 1987, still at The University of Kansas. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in May 2022.
