Bill Cook

Bill Cook is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the technology sector. Currently serving as an Executive Advisor and Board of Directors member at Yugabyte since May 2020, Bill previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Pivotal Software, Inc. from April 2013 to March 2020, and was a consultant to VMware. Prior roles include President of EMC and Greenplum, as well as Senior Vice President of Sales and Services at Penguin Computing. Bill's career at Sun Microsystems spanned from 1986 to 2005, where Bill held various leadership roles including Vice President of Worldwide Storage and Senior Vice President of the US. Bill began a career in sales at Datapoint and Machine Vision International. Bill holds a degree from Michigan State University, where education was completed from 1976 to 1980.
