Aki Mimoto began their work experience in 1999 as a Senior Perl Developer at Gossamer Threads Inc. They worked on multiple projects, including document and video conversion/management systems, PCI/DSS compliant payment systems, and large databases. They also managed developer VMs and code repositories. In 2004, Aki took on the role of an Event Photographer for various non-profit organizations, with their work being published in various mediums. In 2010, they joined Zaber Technologies Inc. as an IT Systems and Support Team Lead, where they had a wide range of responsibilities including computer support, system backups, coding in multiple languages, and managing the company's ERP system.
Aki Mimoto completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a focus on Evolution and Ecology from Simon Fraser University in 2006.
