David Goosen's work experience includes various roles and positions in engineering and management. David started their career in 2004 as a Research Engineer at The University of British Columbia and later worked as a Production Engineer at Canadian Wooden Domes. In 2016, they became a Mechanical Design Engineer at Overhead Camera Motion System. Since 2009, they have been associated with Zaber Technologies, first as a Mechanical Designer and Product Manager, then as a Microscope Team Lead, and currently as a Mechanical Engineering Team Lead. During their tenure at Zaber Technologies, they successfully led the development of an automated fluorescence microscope, recruited and managed a team, and achieved sales to external customers.
David Goosen received their Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of British Columbia, where they studied from 2000 to 2005. In addition to their degree, David has obtained several certifications related to optical systems and engineering, including Design of High-Performance Optical Systems, Optical Engineering Specialization, Optical Efficiency and Resolution, and First Order Optical System Design from Coursera.
