Jan Otto de Kat is a seasoned professional in naval architecture and sustainability, currently serving as the Regulatory Affairs Manager at Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping since May 2022. Concurrently, Jan Otto de Kat provides expertise as a Naval Architecture Consultant for Starcrest Consulting Group. Previously, Jan Otto de Kat held various leadership positions at American Bureau of Shipping, including Director of Global Sustainability and Technical Director, and was also a Senior Technical Adviser at A.P. Moller-Maersk. With a strong foundation in research and development from a managerial role at MARIN, Jan Otto de Kat possesses a Ph.D. in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, complemented by a B. Eng. from UNSW and additional studies at Delft University of Technology.
