Theodore Talbot

Head of Climate Finance & Economics at Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center

Theodore Talbot is an accomplished economist with extensive experience in climate finance and economics. Currently serving as the Head of Climate Finance & Economics at the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping since August 2023, Theodore previously held the position of Chief Economist & Associate Director at the Centre for Disaster Protection from May 2022 to July 2023. Prior to this, Theodore was a Senior Economist & Innovative Finance Lead at The World Bank from April 2017 to April 2022, and served as a Senior Analyst at the Center for Global Development from May 2014 to April 2017. Additional experience includes work as an Economist for the Government of Vietnam and the University of Copenhagen from February 2012 to February 2014, and for the Government of Vanuatu from October 2008 to October 2010. Theodore began a career in development economics as an ODI Fellow at the Overseas Development Institute during 2008-2010.
