Rob Penny has a diverse work experience starting in 2010 as a freelance designer. In 2011, they joined M&C Saatchi and CHI&Partners as a designer consecutively. From 2011 to 2013, they worked at Futureproof as a Senior Creative, overseeing various creative projects. In 2013, they joined Toaster (at Google) as a Senior Designer until 2016.

In 2016, Rob had multiple roles, starting with Farfetch as a Senior Product Designer for three months. Rob then worked at deltatre as a Senior Designer for a month and transitioned to ustwo as a Senior Designer until February 2018. Rob was promoted to Lead Designer at ustwo until November 2020.

From November 2020 to November 2022, they served as the Head of Design at Bulb, leading a team of six designers and overseeing product design. During their time at Bulb, they worked on notable projects such as Bulb EV, an offering for electric car drivers, and the Carbon Calculator, a tool to calculate and offset carbon footprints.

Currently, Rob Penny is employed at Zoa as the Head of Design and Acting Product Director since November 2022.

Rob Penny attended Taunton School from 1990 to 2003, where they obtained their GCSEs and A-Levels. Following this, they pursued a degree in Product Design at the University of Leeds from 2004 to 2008, earning a 1st class Bachelor of Design degree.
