Joe Simmons

Joe Simmons has a diverse work experience in the field of design. Joe started their career as a Junior Web Designer at RocketPod LLP in 2014. Joe then founded and worked as a Product Designer at Proovi from 2016 to 2017, where they developed a web app from scratch and implemented a UX process. Joe went on to co-found and work as a Founder & Product Designer at RemoteOne from 2018 to 2019, where they created a tool for freelancers working remotely and traveling.

In 2016, Joe also started working as a Freelance Senior UX Designer at Joe Simmons Design, where they collaborated with startups, agencies, and public sector organizations to create and humanize digital products. Joe worked with well-known brands including Airbus, TEDxBristol, and Octopus Energy. Joe also took on roles as a Senior UX/UI Designer at Simitive and as a Senior UX Designer at 500more (both on contract basis) in 2021 and 2022 respectively, where they led various design projects.

Joe further enhanced their expertise by working as a UX Designer at Newicon Ltd from 2017 to 2020, where they collaborated with clients such as Airbus and TEDxBristol. Joe also worked as a UX Designer at Octopus Energy Hatchery in 2020.

In 2022, Joe joined Nomensa as a Principal UX Designer, where they worked with notable clients such as Virgin Media and National Highways. Joe is currently employed as a Product Designer at ZOE since October 2022.

Throughout their career, Joe has demonstrated their skills in design strategy, user research, wireframing, UI design, and UX copywriting. Joe has a particular interest in accessibility and has worked on purpose-led projects in various sectors including health-tech, energy, and employee management software for universities.

Joe Simmons attended North Bristol Post 16 Centre from 2007 to 2009, where they completed their A-level education. Joe then proceeded to the University of Brighton from 2010 to 2014. During their time there, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Business Management with Finance.
