John Jensen is an accomplished software engineer with extensive experience in building scalable data streaming systems at Zonar Systems since November 2018. Prior to this role, John worked as a contract software engineer at Nintendo focusing on product development and new technologies. As a self-employed entrepreneur, John achieved notable success by securing 1st place at Fishackathon Seattle for an application aimed at combating human trafficking in the fishing industry, and 3rd place at Hack the Next AI for an AI application serving private pilots. Earlier roles include project manager at Safran Aero Boosters, where John oversaw software and hardware installations for a jet engine research facility, and positions as a production enhancement engineer and field engineer at Baker Hughes. John gained foundational engineering experience through internships at Caterpillar Inc. in both the powertrain systems and component design sectors. Academic credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from South Dakota Mines and a software developer certification from Code Fellows.
