Zach Lovering is a seasoned aerospace professional with extensive experience in engineering and leadership roles within the aviation industry. Currently serving as VP of Engineering at Zone 5 Technologies and an advisor for both Magpie Aviation and Jump Aero Incorporated, Zach has previously held significant positions such as VP Engineering at Elroy Air and Engineering Manager at Apple. Zach founded Aera Aircraft, Inc. and served as CEO while also taking on leadership positions at Airbus, overseeing urban air mobility systems and leading Project Vahana focused on autonomous aircraft development. Earlier career experience includes roles as Senior Aerospace Engineer at Wisk and Project Engineer at Helicopter Technology Company. Zach holds both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from UC San Diego.

Zone 5 Technologies (Zone 5) is a UAS and technology development company founded in 2011 and headquartered in San Luis Obispo, CA. To date, the company’s focus has been the development and testing of innovative unmanned aircraft systems for demanding government applications. This has included development of CONOPS, vehicle designs, complete avionics systems, embedded hardware and software, ground control stations and mission planning software.
