Sara Rayburn

Sara Rayburn is a seasoned professional in system safety engineering and technical program management, currently serving as Manager of System Safety Engineering Analysis at Zoox since July 2024. Prior experience includes leadership roles at Nuro, where Sara led Autonomy Test and Integration and Technical Program Management for systems, and Apple as an Engineering Program Manager. Earlier career positions include Systems Development Manager at Oceaneering and Project Manager/Lead Developer at C&C Technologies, Inc., focusing on command and control software for marine robotics. Sara began their academic journey at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where a Master's degree in Computer Science was obtained, along with research in computer vision and image processing for artificial intelligence. Additionally, Sara participated as an intern in Google Summer of Code in 2010 and 2011, working on projects related to bioinformatics and home automation using Microsoft's Kinect.
