Desmond Lau

Desmond Lau is a highly experienced scientist specializing in protein engineering and multi-specific therapeutics, currently holding the position of Senior Scientist at Zymeworks Inc. since June 2017. Prior to this role, Desmond served in various capacities at Zymeworks, including Scientist and Associate Scientist. Desmond's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Structural Biology from The University of British Columbia and both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Simon Fraser University. Desmond's research concentrates on the molecular mechanisms of transcription factor regulation, utilizing Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, as well as managing laboratory logistics and equipment maintenance.
