Josh Paterson started their work experience as a Lead Bartender at Elephant Bar Restaurant in 1998 and held this position until 2005. In 2007, they joined A-American Self Storage as a District Manager, a role they held until 2011. Later in 2011, Josh became Vice President of Operations at A-American Self Storage, where they were responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of 23 self-storage locations in Hawaii, California, and Nevada.

Josh Paterson began their education at Moorpark College in 1999, where they pursued an Associate of Arts (AA) degree. Josh completed their studies at Moorpark College in 2001. Following this, from 2001 to 2004, Josh attended California State University, Northridge, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History.
