Greg Carter's work experience includes roles at various companies in the finance and insurance industry. Greg started their career at Standard & Poor's in 1987 as a Director, and later joined Bank of America as a Credit Analyst in 1995. In 1997, they became the General Manager of AM Best Europe Ltd., where they were responsible for analyzing European insurance companies and expanding the company's presence in London. In 2001, they joined Fitch Ratings as the Managing Director of Insurance, overseeing a team of 35 analysts covering insurance companies across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. Greg then worked at the Financial Services Authority as a Manager in the Wholesale and General Insurers department, supervising Wholesale Insurance Brokers in the UK. In 2011, they joined Capita Commercial Insurance Services as the Director of Underwriting Services and Market Services, where they provided professional services to clients in the Lloyd's and London markets. In 2014, they joined EY as the Insurance Director for Financial Services in the Asia-Pacific region. Currently, they are the Managing Director of Analytics at AM Best, a role they have held since September 2015.

Greg Carter attended South East Essex Sixth Form College from 1981 to 1983. Afterward, they attended Park School in Rayleigh, Essex, although the specific dates are unknown. No degree or field of study was specified for either educational institution.
