Shelley Mitchell, CPA, has a diverse work experience in the accounting and finance field. Shelley began their career in 2011 at BKD CPAs & Advisors, where they worked as a Senior Associate II until 2015. Following this, they joined SGS & Co as a Senior Accountant for a brief period of time in 2015.
In 2016, Mitchell joined Abound Credit Union, where they held multiple roles over the years. Shelley started as the Chief Internal Auditor in March 2016 and later transitioned to the position of Chief Risk and Knowledge Officer in January 2018. Currently, Mitchell serves as the Chief Strategy Officer at Abound Credit Union, a role they have held since August 2023.
Mitchell's experience includes expertise in internal auditing, risk management, strategic planning, and financial analysis.
Shelley Mitchell, CPA obtained a Master's Degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky in 2011. Shelley also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance, both from the University of Kentucky, which they completed in 2010. Shelley obtained their CPA certification in 2012.
