Elaine Thow possesses extensive experience in human resources, primarily within the financial services and technology sectors. Currently serving as the Head of HR for Functions and Technology at abrdn since July 2010, Elaine Thow oversees HR strategy for various global business units and has played a pivotal role in forming cohesive virtual teams to deliver comprehensive HR services. Previous roles at abrdn include Strategic HR Business Partner, Talent & OD Consultancy Practice Manager, and Senior HR Business Consultant, amongst others. Prior to abrdn, Elaine Thow held significant HR positions at HP UK, focusing on global talent management and served as an EMEA HR Business Partner. Elaine Thow began their career as an HR Graduate Trainee at HP UK and has foundational education in psychology, holding a BSc (Hons) from the University of St Andrews and an MSc from the University of Surrey.
