He graduated from the University of Georgia with an undergraduate degree in management information systems. He also received an MBA in finance from Clark Atlanta University before moving to Detroit, where he worked in commercial banking. At APF, Crooks is responsible for underwriting new loan opportunities, which involves analyzing property cash flows, reviewing global cash flows and credit worthiness, along with detailed analysis of the hotel market and specific demand drivers. His analytical skills have been an asset to APF. Crooks has successfully underwritten and closed multiple hotel loans across the country.
