Linda Andrews

SVP, Field Activities at ACGME

Linda B. Andrews, MD is the Senior Vice President, Field Activities. She most recently served as an ACGME Accreditation Field Representative from June 2017 until February 2019. Prior to that, she was the Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education (GME) at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). She served as BCM’s Senior Associate Dean for GME since 2004, including during and after Hurricane Katrina, in which Dr. Andrews worked closely with the Tulane University School of Medicine to assist over 200 Tulane residents and fellows to continue their GME training at BCM for nine months.

Dr. Andrews’ oversight responsibility for BCM GME included 94 ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship programs with over 1,300 residents and fellows working across four major participating hospitals within the Texas Medical Center, and almost 50 additional clinical sites in and around Houston.

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) is a private, non-profit, professional organization responsible for the accreditation of approximately 12,000 residency and fellowship programs and the approximately 865 institutions that sponsor these programs in the United States. Residency and fellowship programs educate approximately 145,000 resident and fellow physicians in 157 specialties and subspecialties. The ACGME’s mission is to improve health care and population health by assessing and enhancing the quality of resident and fellow physicians’ education through accreditation and education.
