Charlie Souza

Charlie Souza, MSEE, PE, PMP, CAP, is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in control systems, automation, safety, and cybersecurity. Currently serving as the Functional Safety and OT/ICS Cybersecurity Lead at AcuTech Consulting Group, Charlie provides expert guidance on industrial control systems within critical infrastructure. Previous roles include leading controls and automation efforts at Syzygy Plasmonics and co-founding SURGE Engineering, where significant projects in Electrical Engineering and Process Controls were executed. Charlie’s expertise spans various sectors, including energy and safety instrumented systems, with a successful track record in project management at BP and consultancy at KENEXIS. Academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University and ongoing studies in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Houston.
