James Huang leads Adient in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, including China, holding P&L responsibility and overseeing the regional growth strategy. Huang has a strong focus on aligning Adient’s product offering and technological capabilities to local market demands, strengthening strategic partnerships, and optimizing the regional manufacturing footprint to support sustainable growth.
Huang joined Johnson Controls in 2000, holding leadership positions in Asia Pacific in purchasing and sales before serving as general manager of Shanghai Yanfeng Johnson Controls Seating Co., Ltd., Johnson Controls’ largest venture at the time.
Prior to his current role, he served as general manager of China operations and chief representative of Johnson Controls’ Shanghai head office. He was appointed vice president, APAC in 2014 — a role that was expanded to include China in 2018.
Prior to joining Johnson Controls, Huang worked at General Electric, where he held a variety of commercial, operational and business-development roles.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
