Richard Payne

Richard Payne is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in strategy consulting and commodity trading. Currently, Richard serves as the Head of Strategy Consulting and Head of Commodity & Energy Trading at AFRY, where responsibilities include driving growth in these practices. Previously, Richard held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Cobblestone Energy, focusing on finance and operational efficiencies. With a strong background at capSpire as Partner and Head of Commodities Consulting, and roles at Rosneft, Accenture, Cargill SA, and Rio Tinto, Richard has demonstrated expertise in risk management, marketing strategy, and commercial development across various sectors. Richard began a career in the Royal Navy as a Lieutenant, which provided a foundation for leadership and operational management. Richard holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Modern History from the University of Oxford, as well as an MBA from Henley Business School.
