AiM Medical Robotics
Dr. Gregory Fischer has been a pioneer in the field of Medical Robotics since 2009 and has authored over 50 peer reviewed publications on subjects that involve intraoperative robotics. He currently works at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), where he is the Director of Practice Point Center, a William Smith Dean’s Professor of Mechanical Engineering & Robotics Engineering, and acts as the Head of the WPI Automation and Interventional Medicine Robotics Research Laboratory, the laboratory where AiM Medical Robotics was founded. Dr. Fischer is also the founder and head of Practice Point, a healthcare development and testing facility for med-tech startups and established partnering companies that promote innovation.
Dr. Fischer holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, an MSE in both Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins, and a BS in both Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

AiM Medical Robotics is a neurosurgical robotics company that is working to bring high levels of precision, automation, and efficiency to the surgical suite by introducing portable MRI-functional robotics into the complex surgical environment of neurosurgery. They are developing a portable neurosurgical robot for use in the MRI scanner. Their mission is to improve outcomes for patients undergoing neurosurgery for functional brain disorders (Parkinson’s, Epilepsy, etc.) and Glioblastoma while providing cost savings to hospitals by eliminating error and reducing procedure time by up to 50%.
