James Delaney

Director, Asset Management Regulation at AIMA

James joined AIMA in May 2019 as Director, Asset Management Regulation. He has a legal background and ten years’ experience in public affairs and government relations.

Prior to joining AIMA, James worked at a leading Brussels-based consultancy, offering strategic communications support to predominantly financial services clients before returning to the UK at the end of 2013, to join the Government Relations team at U.S. insurer MetLife. During his time at MetLife, he led on public policy and advocacy programmes in Brussels and across fourteen EU member states, including the UK. He retains deep knowledge of EU and UK political and regulatory systems as well as a detailed understanding of financial regulation. He holds a degree in Law (LLB Hons) from the College of Law.
